Java version

Linux Survival was originally written in Java but web browsers have made it increasingly difficult to run Java applets, so I rewrote it to run directly in the browser. However, if you have trouble running the browser-based modules above, then you can try the old Java version below.

You have two main choices for starting the Java version of Linux Survival, depending on which operating system you are currently running.

Note: If the Java applet comes up but the simulated Linux console doesn't appear on page 6 of Module 1, then try the Full-screen option. It won't look as nice as the other options, but the Linux console should appear.
